With demand for healthy fast food at an all-time high, Picadeli is celebrating a major milestone: more than 300 salad bars are now open across Finland! This achievement makes Picadeli one of the country’s largest fast-food chains by number of outlets.

Since its launch in Finland in 2013, the concept has grown from just a handful of salad bars in Helsinki to a truly nationwide presence. Today, Picadeli’s green bowls can be found everywhere from supermarkets in major cities to ski resorts in Lapland. Half of the outlets are located outside the Helsinki region, clearly showing that demand is strong both in big cities and in smaller municipalities.

“Our journey in Finland is a fantastic part of a much larger growth story. Picadeli is expanding rapidly, not only in the Nordics but also across several European markets and in the United States. Reaching over 300 salad bars in Finland demonstrates the strength of our concept, and we see enormous potential to continue making healthy fast food accessible to even more people,” says David von Laskowski, CEO of Picadeli and Greenfood Group.

At the core of Picadeli’s success lies a simple insight: healthy food must be accessible, affordable, and tasty – otherwise people will choose something else. That’s why Picadeli continuously renews its assortment with new and exciting ingredients and flavors that appeal to both younger and older consumers.

Technology is also a crucial part of the concept. What looks like an ordinary salad bar is in fact a Swedish foodtech innovation. Picadeli’s connected refrigerated counters are powered by AI and algorithms that analyze stock levels, sales history, planograms – and even weather forecasts. This enables stores to order exactly what customers want while minimizing food waste and keeping the assortment fresh and relevant.

Technology also makes it possible to grow quickly without compromising on sustainability. A typical Picadeli salad has an average carbon footprint of just 0.9 kg CO₂e, almost half that of a standard European lunch, which on average emits 1.48 kg.

Picadeli is part of Swedish Greenfood Group, a pioneer in healthy food in Europe. The concept is now established in Sweden, France, Monaco, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Finland, Denmark, Estonia, and the United States. In total, more than 70 million healthy meals are sold each year.
