Foundation finances scholarship for entrepreneurs who want to attend the Executive MBA program at the School of Business, Economics and Law in Gothenburg. Apply now!
The Knut and Ragnvi Jacobsson Family Foundation is financing generous scholarships for entrepreneurs who have owned and run their own companies for at least two years. The foundation has enabled three entrepreneurs during the past three years, to attend the part-time Executive MBA program at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg. Now it’s time to apply again. July 31 is the final day for applications. The program starts on October 1.
Former scholarship winners who attend, or have attended, the part-time Executive MBA program for 21 months are active in widely different areas. They share a great passion and willingness to develop, as well as to lead companies with the ambition to be innovative and build new concepts and business solutions.
The three previous scholarship winners
2017: Johan Hallenby, founder and CEO of Viscus AB, now wholly owned by SATS. Johan graduated from the Executive MBA program in June 2019.
“The Executive MBA was a perfect match for me. As I ran my own company during the programme,
I was able to instantly implement new knowledge from every module and see the effects throughout the program. It was, to say the least, very tough for 21 months, but the knowledge, network and experience I gained is incredibly valuable. If I had the chance, I would take the same journey again every day of the week, without hesitation! ”
2018: Michael Bengtsson, co-founder of Mindbender Inc AB. Michael is participating in the ongoing Executive MBA program and will graduate in June 2020.
“I am extremely grateful and proud that the Knut Family & Ragnvi Jacobson Foundation gave me this opportunity. I come from a technical/artistic background and have previously lacked a business-oriented education. It has really helped to complement my skills, and has given me friends for life, knowledge, more perspectives, insights and drive which already have begun to show tangible results.”
2019: Anna Fritzson, founder and CEO of Zuragon Sweden AB, a company working with autonomous vehicles. Anna is participating in the ongoing Executive MBA program 2019-2021 and will graduate in June 2021.
“Although passion, determination and high ambitions are strong driving forces behind any successful entrepreneur, there must also be knowledge and experience on how to run a business. This is where an Executive MBA program provides such a valuable foundation for entrepreneurs. It helps entrepreneurs to manage a company in the long term, analyse the success and mistakes of others and also explore new business opportunities with the help of top-class teachers from all over the world. In addition, together with fellow students who are super smart, knowledgeable and ambitious people. You get a whole network of friends for life who will support and be able to give you advice, even after the program is over. I am incredibly proud and grateful for the scholarship from the foundation, which has given me the opportunity to join the Executive MBA program. It’s a unique education program that has definitely made me a more skilful and knowledgeable business manager."
The Executive MBA program is a management training program delivered part-time and in English over a period of 21 months. It is offered by the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg, which is accredited by the three most prestigious international accreditation organisations for business schools: EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA. With combined focus on Nordic countries and Asia, the participants are equipped with tools to manage increased business responsibilities in a globalised market. Each module is focused on a specific subject and both hard and soft skills are developed. The program also includes two 8-day programme modules at elite universities in China and India.
“For entrepreneurs, the program provides the opportunity to take leadership and company management to new levels. It is also about being able to see and interpret external factors that can be crucial for a company's development. New knowledge, combined with personal development of the individuals during the program, means that they are well equipped to radically improve their businesses,” says Håkan Ericsson, CEO, GU Executive Education.
“As founders of the Knut & Ragnvi Jacobsson Foundation, we have grown up in an entrepreneurial family and have some insight into what it means to start and run a business. The idea behind our foundation is to inspire and support entrepreneurs with scholarships so they can deepen their skills and expand their network. It is very rewarding that after just a few years we already see great results from the entrepreneurs we have supported,” says Marianne Brismar, Chairman of the Board Knut & Ragnvi Jacobsson Foundation.
