Haglöfs Freeski – the dream of the perfect run

Getting to the top of the mountain. Standing there and looking out over untouched powder that seemingly never ends. Throwing yourself off the crest of the mountain and choosing lines with a feeling that no one has ever been here before. This is the dream of the perfect run; a dream many people share.

For the 2013 winter season, Haglöfs is launching an extensive ski collection in new, exciting colors that has been developed with a focus on freeskiing. The collection is twice as large compared to 2012 and contains 38 new and a number of updated jackets, overalls, trousers, bibs, mid layers and backpacks. The choice of material, functionality and fit have been adapted so skiers can challenge both themselves and the snow and get the most out of their adventure.

Award-winning design now updated
When Haglöfs developed its award-winning VASSI Jacket together with Haglöfs’ friends Per Jonsson and Asbjørn Eggebø Næss, it probably created the ultimate ski jacket with the exact features a freeskier is looking for. For the 2013 winter season, a new version is being released that has retained its characteristic features. VASSI II JACKET is equipped with a new Gore-Tex
® material in new exciting colors and has updated features such as an attachment for the cords for a two-way radio or telephone and a snow skirt with improved functionality.

For the 2013 winter season Haglöfs is releasing a little brother to VASSI, CHUTE JACKET, which is an unembellished alpine jacket in 2-layer Gore-Tex® with all the right freeskiing features. CHUTE JACKET shares many of the characteristics of VASSI, for example a helmet-compatible hood, a removable stretch snow skirt, a high, protective collar and has torso core ventilation zippers strategically placed for rapid body heat ventilation. The jacket is at the same time a bit shorter in the back and has due to the choice of material a more soft and pleasant feel to it.

New products developed in collaboration with professionals
Some of the world’s best freeskiers can be counted among Haglöfs’ friends. They add valuable knowledge about what a true enthusiast needs and does not need when Haglöfs is developing new products. This is why Haglöfs’ clothing comes with not only obvious features such as optimized fit and high usability, but also technical details, such as a removable stretch snow skirt, room for transceivers and an integrated goggle wipe. All of which is placed to be easily accessible, even when wearing the obligatory backpack – which is carrying the safety equipment.

Another new release for the 2013 winter season is COULOIR PRO – a warm, soft but also technically advanced shell jacket in 3-layer Gore-Tex®. The jacket was developed with freeskiing in mind and offers a unique 4-way stretch for improved mobility, a helmet-compatible hood and a high, protective collar with laser-cut ventilation to decrease the build-up of mist on ski goggles. The jacket has a brushed fleece lining and is further reinforced in particularly exposed areas for maximum warmth. It also features armpit ventilation openings that enable the regulation of body temperature depending on whether the wearer is climbing up the mountain or riding down.
