Haglöfs has entered a cooperation with professional climber Said Belhaj. Above all, the cooperation aims to further develop the company's product segment Mountain.

During the winter Haglöfs has signed a sponsorship agreement with climber Said Belhaj. Belhaj has climbed professionally for 12 years and competed for the Swedish national team for 10 years. His achievements include around 1,000 routes of grades 8a–9a across thirty countries.

“Belhaj is a fantastic outdoor climber who has taken on several of the world's most difficult climbing routes. His knowledge will be invaluable when we take the development of our Mountain segment forward,” says Fredrik Lundberg, Strategic Design Manager at Haglöfs.

As a professional climber, Belhaj is constantly visiting new countries with varying climates, something that puts serious demands on the equipment that he uses.

“Since I climb in places with such major variations in climate and temperature, I am entirely dependent on versatile equipment. At Haglöfs I find all the clothing and equipment I need for long and demanding climbing expeditions, regardless of the weather and temperature. Haglöfs is also committed to sustainability. The environment and my impact on it is something I think about on a daily basis, and I am always sure to leave as small a trace as possible in the places I visit. It is therefore a prerequisite that my cooperating partners think along the same lines,” says Belhaj.

Belhaj's first assignment for Haglöfs will be to participate in Haglöfs Arctic Weekend held in Riksgränsen on March 14–17, 2013, where he will take part in the ice climbing activities.
