Haglöfs L.I.M – classic concept in new design

For many, the best piece of equipment is the one that is noticed the least. The less weight to carry, the easier and longer you can continue your outdoor activity. Haglöfs L.I.M product concept has honed this to perfection.

For the spring/summer of 2014, Haglöfs is introducing what might be its most classic product concept, L.I.M, in a new design with a completely new collection of clothing, shoes and backpacks. A cornerstone of Haglöfs’ design and development work is to only have the functions a product really needs and not add any extras. This has never been more evident than in L.I.M – Less Is More.

Developed for speed hiking
Haglöfs L.I.M is a collection of Haglöfs’ most lightweight, most minimalistic and most packable Trekking products. The development of the new collection focused on one of the strongest trends in Trekking right now: speed hiking. From village to village, cabin to cabin, mountain station to mountain station. The speed hiker carries minimal packing and wants to have lightweight, fast equipment to get the most out of his/her activity.

Haglöfs L.I.M is also suitable for the experienced outdoor enthusiast, who knows how equipment is optimized and therefore can get just as much out of a slightly longer Trekking adventure with equipment that weighs less.

New lightweight jackets
An iconic, test-winning and appreciated Haglöfs product has been made even lighter for the spring/summer of 2014. L.I.M III Jacket is a minimalistic wind and waterproof, bluesign®-approved shell jacket in Gore-tex® Paclite®. One chest pocket for absolute necessities; everything else has been dropped. The result is an ultra light jacket that is also very easy to pack.

New for the spring/summer of 2014 is that the L.I.M line is gaining a parka. New L.I.M Parka is a wind and waterproof, bluesign®-approved, technical shell jacket in Gore-tex® Paclite® with a minimalistic design that makes it very light and packable. It has all of the functions and features required of a shell garment during a trek.

Another new product is Haglöfs’ lightest down jacket, L.I.M Essens Jacket, which symbolizes everything that L.I.M stands for. Every detail has been carefully reviewed to create a wind resistant, minimalistic, ultra light and very packable down jacket that weighs only 185 grams – 40 per cent lighter than the Essens Down Jacket. The jacket is insulated with bluesign®-approved and fully traceable 800 CUIN fill power goose down of the highest quality.

Haglöfs’ first speed hiking shoe
One of the most exciting news for the spring/summer of 2014 is Haglöfs’ line of L.I.M shoes. The shoes are the first development project where ASICS and Haglöfs together developed a sole unique to Haglöfs’ shoes. The L.I.M shoes come with a lower profile on the midsole giving the wearer a better feel of the surface and a more natural step.

The lightest model is called L.I.M Low and weighs only 195 grams. The shoe contains several well-known ASICS technologies and combines extremely low weight with grip and comfort. Small, sharp particles (rice husks) were mixed with the sole’s rubber, which breaks the surface tension on wet stones and ground and improves grip.

In L.I.M Low all of the details have been minimized from a weight perspective – all the way down to the shoestrings, which are thinner. The shoe has a soft heel, which makes it extremely packable. L.I.M Low is therefore also well suited as a base camp shoe, for instance replacing a sandal.
