Cycle Republic supports London commuters with second store launch
- Cycle Republic launches central London flagship store
- Will serve capital’s 170,000 daily cycling commuters
- Retailer to launch further stores in commuter hot-spots
Double Olympic Champion Victoria Pendleton launches Cycle Republic’s second store, on central London’s Margaret Street, as the city sees more cycling commuters than ever before.
The new 4,000 sq. ft store will bring Cycle Republic’s premium range of bikes, parts, accessories and clothing to central London’s 170,000 daily cyclists.
With bikes ranging from the new premium 13 brand, the award-winning Boardman range, Victoria Pendleton bikes, Quella fixies and Pinarello road bikes, the store will have something to suit every city cyclist.
Cycle Republic pledges to increase its range of female-friendly cycling products and the flagship Margaret Street store leads the trend with a 30% female-specific offer, comprising exclusive brands such as the Swiss Assos brand, Pearl Izumi and Giordana.
The team will provide bike servicing and repairs at competitive prices, with courtesy bikes on hand for more extensive repairs. Cyclists in the market for a new bike can also take bikes on a test ride in a new ‘try before you buy’ scheme, to help shoppers choose the best model for their ride.
New Cycle Republic stores are planned for Twickenham at the end of February and Norwich later this year. The Twickenham Cycle Republic store will be the third store and will serve South West London’s growing cycling community and demonstrates the scope for the brand.
As TFL recently unveiled plans for a cycle superhighway which will eventually link Barking to Acton and King’s Cross to Elephant and Castle, the demand for cycling stores in London will grow as commuting by bike becomes a reality for even more people.
Commenting on the opening, Cycle Republic Director Peter Kimberley says: “We know there are now more cyclists on the roads than ever before – there is an increasing demand for high quality products and services from city commuters.
“Over 170,000 cyclists use the capital’s roads every day and we look forward to being able to offer the Cycle Republic experience to them. We’re planning more stores in the near future and will expand our format in cycling commuter hot-spots including Twickenham and Norwich.”
