Automotive retailer Halfords has reinvigorated and relaunched its car parts business – targeting a UK market worth £2 billion with an increased range of over 130,000 individual products.

Branded as Car Parts Direct, the enhanced offer enables customers to order any product in-store, online or via the Halfords mobile App with with next working day delivery or better – 66% of in-store orders will be delivered within 90 minutes.

Customers can choose whether their car parts delivery is sent to their nearest Halfords store for collection, home or place of work – offering unrivalled convenience and accessiblity 7 days a week.

Car Parts Direct manager Paul Tomlinson said: “With an aging UK car fleet stimulating demand for replacement parts, the timing is right for Halfords to reassert itself in the marketplace as part of our commitment to helping our customers with their life on the move.

“The average age of cars on UK roads is at a thirty year high - which we anticipate will drive demand from owners of older vehicles for major replacement parts such as steering, suspension and clutch components - whilst cars around 3 years old sustain demand for consumable items like filters, spark plugs, brake pads and discs and alike.”

The breadth and depth of parts available means that Car Parts Direct can be used by garage trade customers as well as capable DIY repairers, hobby mechanics and fans of specific vehicle marques – whether their needs are a clutch for a Citroen, brake disc for a BMW or a flywheel for a 1968 Porsche 911.

Paul Tomlinson added: “Car Parts Direct has components and consumables for many more models than you may think, including older and less common marques. And, because there’s a Halfords store within 20 minutes for 90% of the UK population - whether you drive a Ford or a Ferrari it is worth checking out our stock and prices before undertaking a repair.”
