Halfords has entered into an exclusive partnership agreement with Norton that will see the leading automotive retailer support the motorcycle manufacturer’s ambition to win the fearsome Isle of Man TT (24 May-6 June)

The three-year partnership will see Norton’s race team mechanics using Halfords Advanced precision hand tools and metal storage – demonstrating the products’ ability to deliver in the heat of competition as well as the company’s confidence in their tools’ lifetime guarantee.

Halfords category manager Louise Robinson said: “This is a massively exciting project for Halfords. It brings together two iconic British brands with nearly 240 years of combined heritage and marks our return to motorsport.

“We’re proud to be supporting Norton’s highly anticipated return to the Isle of Man this year and - having watched the team mechanics work to hone the bike with Cameron (Donald) during testing - be part of a potentially race winning team.”

The Norton/Halfords partnership not only encompasses the Isle of Man TT but will see Halfords Advanced tools in use at any other road race events that Norton participates in, as well as being integral to the development work of their race bikes.

However, the partnership runs deeper than simply supplying Norton with tools. Norton’s race mechanics will be providing ongoing feedback about the products to Halfords’ engineers – informing the design and development of future products.

Norton’s Head of Design Simon Skinner commented: “Norton only partners with high quality brands that have a complimentary vision of premium workmanship and design, so we are proud to be working closely with Halfords and utilising its extensive range of professional tools.

“This is a long-term partnership deal that will develop and evolve but begins with Norton’s engineers and technicians testing the Halfords product range to limit at the gruelling Isle of Man TT.”
