Keep On Rollin’: Halfords Launch New Marketing Campaign

This week Halfords, the UK’s leading automotive, leisure and cycling retailer, launches a new TV advertising campaign that highlights the UK’s love of the open road, whether on two or four wheels.

Leading advertising agency Mother has fashioned a light-hearted creative that likens the British travelling experience to that of the road trip movies made famous in 1960s America.

The two adverts, one focused on cycling and the other motoring, show how even the most British of trips can become an adventure. Each trip begins with a helping hand from Halfords as the protagonists make their way out into the British countryside, before the landscape changes to better reflect the American open road.

Caroline Michel, Halfords Head of Advertising and Digital Media said: “This summer we wanted to create a campaign that celebrated the joys of cycling and driving at their most emotional and aspirational. We also wanted something that would create real talkability, and in this entertaining and engaging creative we feel Mother have really delivered.”

The TV creative forms part of a wider branding initiative for 2014, Keep On Rollin’. The campaign aims remind consumers that Halfords is the best place to enable riders and drivers to pursue their passions with market leading prices and customer service. Keep On Rollin’ is a multi-million pound integrated campaign that will run in bursts throughout the year.
