TALES OF UNEXPECTED REPAIRS INFORM NEW LOOK MOT GUARANTEE FROM HALFORDS AUTOCENTRES
Halfords Autocentres has refreshed and relaunched its MOT Guarantee – a product which is designed to help protect customers from unwelcome repair bills when their next MOT is due.
The leading independent garage chain’s new guarantee provides peace of mind against mechanical or electrical repairs up to the value of £300 for cars up to 10 years old, or 100,000 miles, but for almost half the cost of the scheme it replaces.
Halfords Autocentres’ Rory Carlin said: "Our MOT Guarantee has evolved to reflect changes in the MOT test itself and the needs of our customers.
“By analysing the cost and type of MOT-related repairs required by customers under our old scheme, we have been able to create a product that offers better value by being both cheaper and more relevant to their needs.”
The price of this reassurance has been reduced from £75 to £39.95 for a one year plan that now covers many of the new potential MOT failure items that were introduced during 2013 – including dashboard warning lights and drive shaft wear.
To qualify for the MOT Guarantee, drivers must have had their vehicle serviced with Halfords Autocentres in the past three months or elect to have their car service carried out at the same time as their MOT – which would then provide cover for the following year.
Because of the vehicle background checks that are required, the MOT Guarantee is not available online but can be purchased from any of the 300 participating Autocentres in UK.
Rory Carlin said: “By weeding out poorly maintained vehicles, we can reward those customers who look after theirs with lower prices.
“This takes the sting out of unexpected MOT repair bills and reduces the stress as well as financial strain they can place on motorists.”
