Halfords, the UK’s leading retailer of automotive audio products, today announces a technological first with the launch of the Pioneer SPH–DA120 featuring Apple CarPlay.
Until now Apple’s CarPlay technology has been the preserve of premium vehicle owners – with Mercedes and Ferrari among the few manufacturers to offer it as an option on their new vehicles.
However, the new Pioneer SPH-DA120 affords all motorists access to Apple CarPlay for £349.99 – enabling drivers to:

The Pioneer unit is very intuitive to use - simply plug in your iPhone and Apple CarPlay launches automatically. Once the iPhone is connected to your car, the included external microphone and car speakers means that Apple’s voice controlled personal assistant ‘Siri’ can be used to access all of your iPhones functions.
Apple CarPlay allows you to use Apple Maps on the road – complete with turn-by-turn directions, traffic conditions and estimated travel time. It can also predict destinations you’re likely to want to visit using addresses from your email, text messages, contacts and calendars.

In-car integration is also accessible for Android users. The SPH-DA120 also features MirrorLink, which allows the driver to access their phone’s features right on their dashboard.
