Haupt Lakrits launch Go for gold – the worlds most expensive licorice -  and it consists of a 10-gram milk chocolate truffle filled with a sturgeon caviar and licorice caramel flavored with 100-year-old balsamic vinegar, gianduja on Piedmontese hazelnut flavored with white Alba truffle, black Perigord truffle, Japanese snow salt and 24 carat gold leaf .

Haupt Lakrits spend more time than any other confectionery manufacturer on searching for the best ingredients there is to find. Today they work with everything from hand-picked Tasmanian rock pepper to Japanese cherry blossoms, birch-smoked sea salt from Iceland and fermented (rotten) garlic as flavoring agents in their licorice candies. The reason is simple. Haupt wants their candies to be extremely delicious and preferably with a slightly challenging twist.

In the spring of 2017, Haupt Lakrits made the world's most expensive licorice which was launched at the Licorice Festival in Stockholm. The cans sold out in no time. With the launch of the assortments new darling Salmiakbomben, which is a heavenly mixture of licorice, salmiak and soft caramel, they wanted to make a new try with the world's most expensive licorice and go all-in with the most exclusive ingredients collected over 10 years.

The price is SEK 3,499 each and Haupt Lakrits only manufacture to order with a delivery time of around 3 weeks. This is not for you who are not a true connoiseur.
