Nintendo, Square Enix and CROOZ mapping Finnish gaming knowhow at Slush
Press release 13.11.2013
Four gaming giants are arriving to Helsinki to check out Greater Helsinki’s bustling gaming scene at Slush on November 13-14.
Among the 5000 registered participants of Europe’s biggest startup event Slush are the global gaming giants Nintendo, Square Enix and CROOZ. Nintendo of Europe’s Game Evaluation Manager Tim Symons says the company is particularly curious to get to know Finnish game developers.
- We are keen to meet with the independent developers that are interested to learn more about self-publishing on Nintendo platforms or want to propose original projects we can consider partnering with. We look forward to being surprised by the creativity and talent at Slush.
The word for the available Finnish top talent has also reached Square Enix and CROOZ. Both companies share Nintendo’s interest towards Finnish game development expertise.
-We are interested in meeting developers and publishers for mobile and online products. This can be about distribution, publishing of existing products or ventures and partnerships of products in development, says Christine Thaarup, Business Development Director at Square Enix Europe.
Four international companies will be accompanying the joint Slush Pit Stop of Helsinki Business Hub and Otaniemi Marketing together with Finnish educational and neurogaming companies SkillPixels, NeuroReact and Mental Capital Care. These Finnish growth companies belong to the large pool of yet less known startups with highly talented staff looking for their product to hit the limelight.
Greater Helsinki region’s entrepreneurial spirit is also strongly present in the week following Slush, when the startup-to-investor event PitchHelsinki Fall 2013 combines as a first in the world real-time crowdfunding with live pitches from selected Finnish startups. Investors have an opportunity to invest in these companies with a special valuation during the event at www.invesdor.com. The whole event is also live streamed globally via www.pitchhelsinki.fi.
