Hemsö acquires adult education centre in Dortmund in Germany
Hemsö has acquired an adult education centre in Dortmund at a value of SEK 100 million. The lettable area amounts to approximately 5,500 sqm and the tenant is the City of Dortmund.
The property is used for adult education and is located in central Dortmund, close to services and public transport. The premises are modern and are used for both daytime and evening courses.
Education is a prioritised segment for the Hemsö Group. With the adult education centre in Dortmund, the German portfolio, which previously comprised nursing homes and senior apartments exclusively, gains its second addition focused on education and research.
“We plan to grow in Germany, both in care facilities and education, and to increase the proportion of public-sector tenants. Regarding the education segment, we have the advantage of being able to draw on our experience and knowledge of the Swedish and Finnish markets, in which we own about 100 educational properties,” says Jens Nagel, Hemsö’s Head of Region Germany.
Hemsö owns, and has signed agreements for, properties and projects valued at approximately EUR 575 million in Germany.
