The purchase price amounts to EUR 35.5 million. The tenant, Åbo Akademi, is Finland’s Swedish-language university. The property’s lettable area comprises approximately 18,500 sqm and the remaining lease period is approximately 12 years.

-  Finland is an important market for Hemsö and we want to grow in the education segment. This is our first university property in Finland and represents a valuable addition to the education properties we already own. We now own some 30 properties in Finland in the education and nursing homes segments, says Jarkko Leinonen, Country Manager Finland at Hemsö.

Academill houses the faculty for Education and Welfare Studies, which trains Swedish-speaking teachers in Finland. The sellers are Åbo Akademi University Foundation and Harry Schauman Foundation. The property will be transferred to Hemsö immediately. Leimdörfer and Avance served as advisors for this transaction.
