RAGASCO has entered into a new contract with Daimler AG for the supply of high-pressure containers to an estimated value of approx. 100 million Norwegian Kroner.

RAGASCO AS, a fully owned subsidiary of HEXAGON COMPOSITES ASA, has entered into an agreement with DAIMLER AG for the supply of high-pressure composite containers for storage of natural-gas. The contract concerns fuel tanks for a new Mercedes Benz model which is soon to be launched in an environmentally friendly natural-gas version.

RAGASCO already supplies high-pressure composite containers to the natural-gas version of the Mercedes Benz B-Class. This environmentally friendly car model has been received well by the market.

The new contract that has now been entered into with Daimler will give a significant increase in production volume for Ragasco and therefore bring the company an important step nearer to the necessary level required for the automated production of high-pressure containers. Ragasco expects that such production will, in the future, become integrated into the company's fully automated propane-container production line.

The new contract builds upon the trust established with Daimler through the development and supply of high-pressure containers for the B-Class and confirms Ragasco's leading position in the field. Composite containers are more than 65% lighter than traditional steel containers.
