Hilti GB hosts sustainability experts and key customers in event promoting Swiss and UK business links
Hilti GB and the Swiss Business Hub UK+Ireland last week hosted a sustainability focused event, Making Construction Better, bringing together customers and sector experts and promoting business links between the UK and Switzerland.
Taking place at the Swiss embassy in London’s Marylebone, the event saw key customers and contacts from UK construction gather to hear talks on sustainability in construction, the future of green building in the UK, and to find out more about the already strong links between the UK and Switzerland. The event follows a similar get together in Hilti’s Northern European HQ in Manchester in 2022 which saw Manchester mayor Andy Burnham give a speech on the opportunities available to both Mancunian and Swiss businesses in the construction and built environment sector.
The event was opened by His Excellency Markus Leitner, Ambassador of Switzerland to the UK and Rainer Ringgenberg, Head of Region Northern Europe for Hilti.
Tassilo Deinzer, a member of Hilti’s executive board spoke about productivity and digitisation in construction, and their direct relationship with sustainability targets. Hilti also welcomed Professor Aaron Gillich, Director of the BSRIA LSBU Net Zero Building Centre, who spoke about sustainability in the built environment and the steps the UK must now take to hit net zero emissions targets by 2050.
