HiQ BRINGS QUALITY TO THE ENERGY SECTOR
HiQ helps the Finnish energy supplier Kuopio Energy in an extensive project aiming at implementing an automatic meter management (AMM) service. HiQ provides Kuopio Energy with quality assurance and test management services. The objective of the project is to ensure the success of mass installation of smart meters in the areas supplied by Kuopio Energy.
”As a municipal provider, our responsibility is to ensure that electricity distribution functions without complications. For this reason, quality assurance is an essential component that supports our core business operations and is best carried out by an expert. For the testing phase, we wanted to engage an external partner who has profound knowledge of quality issues and is familiar with the demands of the industry. The testing service provided by HiQ allows Kuopio Energy to minimize the risks prior to the mass installation phase. The AMM is first installed in a test area, and gradually expanded to the entire grid. The actual mass installation will take place in the spring of 2012 and involves 50,000 locations of use.
