HiQ BUILDS A FAST TRACK TO MORE EFFICIENT DOCUMENTATION
HiQ created a system documentation management application for Finnish lottery and gaming company Veikkaus. Beyond its management features, the application provides visibility into interactive relations between systems.
“Our unit is responsible for the documentation of about 40 internal applications. Information pertaining to our systems was previously fragmented and stored in various locations. Our goal was to compile all operation critical documentation into one place, in which it will be easier to oversee and update,” says Teija Kallionperä, planning manager at Veikkaus.
HiQ’s application offers a comprehensive overview of Veikkaus’s information systems, interfaces related to these systems and the required documentation. A visual presentation helps the user to quickly see all the systems and their interactions. The launch of the application was preceded by a pilot project that also included a Proof of Concept – implementation of basic functionalities.
”We were working under an extremely tight schedule, and guided by HiQ’s specialists thorough specifications we were able to proceed quickly. The application entered testing stage within a couple of months. Now we not only have a way to oversee our documentation, but can also utilize the application as a tool in maintenance reviews and operative planning. We also aim to further expand its use in the future,” Kallionperä continues.

Quick system acquisitions have often resulted in incomplete documentation; this management application, meanwhile, ensures continuity.
