HiQ is signing a new framework agreement with Bombardier Transportation that makes HiQ a preferred supplier. The agreement will result in assignments for HiQ’s companies in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Mälardalen and Skåne.

HiQ carries out extensive work in partnership with Bombardier in a number of different areas, exploiting the latest technology to meet the requirements of the market. HiQ has been working with Bombardier over a period of thirteen years and is now signing a new framework agreement with the train manufacturer.

Bombardier Transportation is a global supplier of products and services to the rail industry. Its products include underground trains, trams and high-speed trains, among other things. The company also develops control systems for rail traffic. Bombardier Transportation Sweden employs around 2,400 people at its production plant in Västerås and at its facilities in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Gävle and Hässleholm.

Thanks to its specialist knowledge, HiQ has received orders from Bombardier covering everything from testing and simulation to requirements expertise and project management for various projects in Sweden and abroad.

“Our work benefits greatly from our specialist expertise in areas such as real-time systems, simulation technology and IT in vehicles. Our commitment is long-term and it is rewarding to work with a client such as Bombardier, which uses the latest technology innovatively,” says Lars Stugemo, President and CEO of HiQ.

The rail industry is becoming increasingly high-tech, and IT is becoming more and more a part of it; from information and entertainment on board to business-critical systems, safety improvements and the introduction of new standards. In addition, a process of renewal is currently in progress on many railway lines around the world.

“We at Bombardier are working hard on using the latest technology to get the best results for our clients and to find the simplest yet best solutions. HiQ’s specialist expertise in this area makes it a good partner that delivers results,” says Peter Carlsson, Director EAPD ERTMS & ATP Rail Control Solutions at Bombardier.
