HiQ TO BROADCAST LIVE STREAM OF THIS YEAR'S STOCKHOLM PRIDE PARADE
IT consulting company HiQ will broadcast a live stream of the Stockholm Pride Parade on 6 August. The collaboration with Stockholm Pride will allow more people to see this year’s parade and celebrate victories for a more open society.
6 August is the date of the fourteenth annual Stockholm Pride Parade on the streets of Stockholm. Around 40,000 participants and a crowd of 350,000 are expected to show up for this year’s parade. HiQ will be there to broadcast the event live. The presenter will be popular radio host Roger Nordin.
“By broadcasting Stockholm Pride we want to show the opportunities that today’s technology offers in creating a more open society. We will join Stockholm Pride in taking the festivities beyond the streets of Stockholm and onto the web,” says Peter Häggström, Marketing Manager at HiQ.
The theme for this year’s Stockholm Pride is a celebration of a more open society. IT and communication have played a major role in increasing openness around the world. For the first time ever the parade is being broadcast live and the organisers hope to reach a global audience.
“We want to show the world that we have come a long way towards a more open society here in Sweden. Our collaboration with HiQ will allow us to celebrate victories all around the world,” says Helena Hellström Gefwert, head of public relations for Stockholm Pride.

The live stream will be available at www.hiq.se from noon until 4.30 p.m. on 6 August. Viewers will be able to meet well-known personalities and be part of the festivities on the streets of Stockholm.
