A short film about different outdoor activities in celebration of the International Women’s Day.

When two young filmmakers from Ylläs in Finnish Lapland wanted to make a tribute video for the International Women’s Day 2019, they contacted the local tourism office in Ylläs which immediately jumped on the idea.

“I was very exited about the idea of these two very talented filmmakers and said yes in a heartbeat.” said Janne-Juhani Haarma, CEO of Visit Ylläs.

Two brothers Eetu and Topi Leikas, 24 and 21 years old, filmed local women from Ylläs, Lapland in freezing temperatures. Polar night had just ended and the days were short during the filming of the short film.

“The previous night the temperature dropped down to minus 35 centigrade and we were a little worried about how the cameras would work, especially the drone, but everything worked out perfectly.” Eetu tells about the day. “Morning was beautiful but still cold. Luckily we were filming local women and they are used to these temperatures.” Topi continues.
