15-year-old polar bear male, called Nord, has moved to Ranua Zoo on Monday February 22nd, 2021Nord came from Denmark, Skandinavisk Dyrepark. Nord was born in Moscow Zoo and the transfer was performed due to recommendation from EAZA´s (European Association of Zoos and Aquaria) polar bear coordinator.
Nord left Denmark on Friday, February 19th, and he arrived to his new home on Monday morning. The transportation went well and Nord had a good appetite the moment he got to his new den.

The rapidly growing and internationalising Finnish company specialising in self-driving software, Sensible 4, uses an autonomous test vehicle to collect information about the different winter traffic environments and situations in Fell Lapland.On Monday, December 14th, Sensible 4, which develops autonomous self-driving software, announced its collaboration with Toyota Motor Europe and shall test its technology in Lapland with a vehicle it has automated. At present, there are 40 national parks in Finland. A week ago the Finnish Ministry of the Environment announced that it will begin preparations for two new national parks. One of the new national parks will be located in Lapland, in the Municipality of Salla.
