Rovaniemi Summer Ambassadors are social media influencers, journalists and new media journalists that come to Rovaniemi, in Finnish Lapland, to experience first-hand the Arctic Circle during the long warm days of summer. Apply now for your chance to be a Rovaniemi Summer Ambassador!

Summer 2018 will see 21 influential visitors from across the globe in Rovaniemi, in Finnish Lapland, for the #RovaniemiSummerAmbassador campaign. In June, July and August, these ambassadors will reveal the extraordinary Arctic summer experiences of the famous winter holiday destination.

Participants are offered three different experiences set by the summer months' ever-changing nature. In June, the sun never sets, and you can savour the sunlight 24/7 in a traditional Finnish cottage by the river. July’s participants get to know Finnish summer craziness and urban life in an Arctic city. August comes with darker nights and the beginning of the magical Northern Lights season. Every visit includes a private meeting with Santa at Santa Claus Village, a cultural pass to the city's most important museums, an authentic sauna experience, and if needed, a rental bike or car. Additional experiences include a husky kennel tour, Midnight Sun photography tour, riverboat cruise, canoe trip and the possibility of visiting the Pyhä-Luosto National Park.

Rovaniemi, a famous winter holiday destination, is a city of contrasting natural phenomena. Winter brings long Polar Nights as the sun stays below the horizon from November to late December. Summer is quite the opposite: the sun never sets, bathing the city with white summer light.

Almost 500 applications have already been received from around the world, including the US, China, Hong Kong and Europe, but there’s still time left to apply. The application period closes in one week, on March 16TH. Apply now to experience summer life on the Arctic Circle!

Selected participants will have a unique opportunity to explore the Official Hometown of Santa Claus under the magnificent Midnight Sun. The aim is to find social media influencers, journalists and new media journalists ready to discover and share the Arctic City’s wild and lush nature, the ambassadors wander under the unusual light conditions.

The application period is open until March 16, 2018. Participants will be chosen by the end of March.
