President of Hufvudstaden Ivo Stopner has notified the Board of Directors of his intention to exercise the clause in his contract allowing him to retire at the age of 60. Ivo Stopner has served as President of Hufvudstaden since 1999, a period of 22 years. During this time, the company has demonstrated highly favourable expansion and performance and is now well positioned for the future.

“I have worked at Hufvudstaden for more than 30 years, 22 of which as President. It has been immensely stimulating and a rewarding experience to have had the honour of leading this first-rate company and all of its highly competent and committed employees for such a long time,” says President Ivo Stopner.

“Following a long and successful career as President of Hufvudstaden, I have great respect for Ivo Stopner’s decision to retire from his position as President. I want to thank Ivo for his outstanding contribution and excellent cooperation throughout the years,” says Chairman of the Board Fredrik Lundberg.

The Board of Directors has appointed Vice President Anders Nygren as the new President of Hufvudstaden and he will take office on 1 January 2022. Anders is 51 years old, holds a Master of Science academic degree and has worked at the company for 15 years. He is currently Head of the Stockholm Business Area. He previously served as the Head of Hufvudstaden’s Property Development.

In addition, the Board of Directors has appointed the company’s CFO Åsa Roslund as Vice President and she will take office on 1 January 2022. As previously, Bo Wikare, Head of the NK Business Area, is also Vice President of Hufvudstaden.

“I would like to wish my successor Anders Nygren all the best in his new important position as I hand over the reins to make time for other interests that I also hold close to my heart,” says Ivo Stopner.

“It is gratifying that we can fill the position of President through an internal recruitment process that ensures continuity in the company," concludes Fredrik Lundberg.
