Marc by Marc Jacobs is to open a store in Hufvudstaden’s property Rännilen 18 on 1 September. The lease agreement is for a store area of approximately 200 square metres on Smålandsgatan 10. During 2009-2010 Hufvudstaden carried out a complete redevelopment of Rännilen 18 in Bibliotekstan. The property was designed in 1888 by the architects Backström & Reinius and has remained one of Stockholm’s most attractive properties for office and retailing premises. In the property, one of the world’s strongest brands is now opening its first store in Sweden. Marc by Marc Jacobs will be a full-concept store for both men and women. “Hufvudstaden’s objective is to offer prime sites to successful retail and office tenants in central Stockholm and Gothenburg. That is why we are very proud that Marc by Marc Jacobs has chosen to establish its store in Hufvudstaden’s property in Bibliotekstan”, says Ivo Stopner, President of Hufvudstaden. The establishment of Marc by Marc Jacobs is completely in line with Hufvudstaden’s strategy of developing and enhancing the area around Biblioteksgatan. With a centrally located flagship store, Marc by Marc Jacobs will form an important part of Bibliotekstan.
