Humana acquires Nygårds Vård Gotland AB
Humana, the market leader in Sweden in individual & family care and personal assistance has acquired Nygårds Vård Gotland AB (Nygårds).
Nygårds offers special services for adults with mental disabilities and welcomes people who have been placed according to the Social Services Act and the Health Care Act. Nygårds also offers open compulsory psychiatric care and open psychiatric care.
The acquisition of Nygårds means that Humana Individual & Family is now represented on the island of Gotland apart from Humana’s personal assistance operations which already existed there. With Nygårds well-established and reputed business as a starting point, Humana now has the opportunity to develop this platform further so that more people in need of psychiatric aid may be given the chance to a better life.
Nygårds, which started in 1991, can accommodate 15 residents, has about 12 employees and sales of just over 12 million SEK. Read more on www.nygardsgotland.se.
The change in ownership will not affect the operations or personnel, and Nygårds, which is a major employer in this part of Gotland, will continue to operate in Garda. The current owners, Agneta and Conny Hörnsten, will remain in operation during a transition period.
- We are both proud and pleased that we can sell our great company to Humana. We are confident that the new owner can manage and develop the business in a positive way - for residents, staff and thus also for Nygårds clients' behalf, says Agneta and Conny Hörnsten. We especially like that we managed to attract a competent, well-established and respected care group to take the step to Gotland and the county-side! We hope, of course, this will have an impact on the future development of Nygårds.
- We welcome Nygårds to the Humana family, says Claus Forum, Business Area Manager, Individual & Family. We look forward to working with Nygårds and to further develop our activities for adults with special needs. We share common values and have a consensus on how good care is carried out, something that unites all of us in Humana Individual & Family.
