    Humana acquires Skellefteå Stöd & Behandling AB

    Humana, the market leader in individual and family care and personal assistance, with elderly care and special service housing in accordance with LSS, acquires Skellefteå Stöd & Behandling AB. The acquisition means that Humana strengthens its position within Individual & Family in the North, where Humana already operates Boromir HVB (Älvsbyn) as well as foster homes and outpatient care.Skellefteå Stöd & Behandling operates supported accommodation at Fyren and a residential care home at Lotsen HVB. The target group is boys 14-18 years with psychosocial and neuropsychiatric problems (ADHD).

    Arjessa, one of Finland’s leading providers of individual and family care, has acquired Pienryhmäkoti Puolenhehtaarin Metsä Oy (PHM), which operates in the Uusimaa or Nyland region, through an agreement signed on 21 December 2016. Pienryhmäkoti Puolenhehtaarin Metsä offers psychosocial care and treatment for children and youth. The company has a unit in Nummela, Vihti, and a unit in Muijala, Lohja.     New survey: Staff turnover at social services is increasing sharply

    Staff turnover at the country's social services is rising sharply. The proportion of municipalities whose social services have a turnover rate of over 30 percent has doubled in four years. The Humana Child Barometer that is published today, and developed in cooperation with the organisation Maskrosbarn shows these results.     The Government wants to strengthen children's rights by making the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) law. But a new study carried out by care provider Humana, in collaboration with the organisation Maskrosbarn shows that six out of ten surveyed municipal social services are poorly prepared for the big reform.
