Hyundai enhances support for next generation of young entrepreneurs in Europe
- ‘Brilliant Young Entrepreneurs’ to “inspire the next generation” of innovators
- Complements ‘Skills for the Future’ initiative for those in vocational education
- Europe-wide programmes provide crucial skills for success in business
Offenbach, 8 April 2013
Hyundai is enhancing its commitment to Europe’s bright young business talents, by introducing a new initiative to help drive forward the business plans of university students from around the region.
Through the newly-launched Brilliant Young Entrepreneurs programme, Hyundai will encourage the young European leaders of tomorrow to turn their business dreams into reality. The company will assess the strength of every plan proposed, providing vital support in the form of financial contributions and mobility to students whose plans demonstrate innovation, effective planning and real-world potential.
A winning start-up will be selected from each of the 14 participating countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and the UK.
The programme will be rolled out this month, run in partnership with Junior Achievement Young Enterprise (JA-YE) Europe – the region’s largest provider of entrepreneurship education programmes, reaching 3.1 million students in 38 countries in 2012.
The new initiative complements Skills for the Future, Hyundai’s programme of learning and skills development for 15-18 year olds in vocational education – another scheme run in conjunction with JA-YE Europe. During the three-year initiative, 10.000 participants from 15 European countries will receive support from 400 Hyundai volunteers, who will introduce these students to the automotive sector and share their own experiences of the business world.
Both programmes focus on qualities that reflect Hyundai brand values: innovation, sustainability and responsible corporate citizenship.
Allan Rushforth, Senior Vice President and COO of Hyundai Motor Europe, commented: “We care deeply about Europe and, by investing in its business leaders of tomorrow, we are helping them to write its future.”
“We’re committed to supporting the region’s young people into work and recognising the brightest young talents. Our education and mentoring initiatives will help to inspire the next generation of young entrepreneurs and provide a valuable platform for success in business.”
