Despite the fact that unemployment levels remain high in most parts of the country, employers in some industries are actually having a hard time finding enough workers. At the end of March, the national unemployment rate dropped to 8.3%, from a peak of 10.0% in 2010 but still much higher than the low of 4.4% at the end of 2006.
