Approval process of divestment of the 17 stores in Lithuania initiated

In October 2017 the Lithuanian Competition Authority gave clearance to Rimi Lithuania´s acquisition of UAB Palink under the condition that 17 specific IKI and Rimi stores be sold prior to completion of the transaction. Rimi and UAB Palink have now signed sales agreements for the 17 stores, but before the transaction can be completed the buyers of the stores have to be assessed by the appointed trustee and approved by the competition authority.

When the buyers are approved ICA Gruppen expects the acquisition of UAB Palink to be completed during the second quarter of 2018. UAB Palink owns and operates the IKI grocery retail chain.
