    ICA Gruppen’s report for the second quarter 2024

    The trend continues – more customers are choosing ICA at the same time as food prices have stabilised. Customers also continue to flock to Apotek Hjärtat which strengthens its position as Sweden’s largest pharmacy.· Consolidated net sales increased by 5.3% to SEK 39,826 million compared with 2023 (SEK 37,823 million) for the second quarter and operating profit rose to SEK  2,262 million (SEK 2,008 million). · The Group’s improved earnings were affected by a land exchange transaction in Årsta which provided a capital gain of approximately SEK 500 million.     ICA Real Estate completes land exchange with the City of Stockholm

    On 12 June, ICA Real Estate completed a land exchange with the City of Stockholm where ICA Real Estate divests land for SEK 843 million and at the same time acquires land for SEK 371 million with a net cash flow effect of SEK 472 million.In 2013, ICA Real Estate signed a land allocation agreement and letter of intent on a reparceling with the City of Stockholm involving the divestment and acquisition of land in Årsta. The letter of intent means that ICA Real Estate acquires an additional parcel of land adjacent to Postgården 1 and divests land within Postgården 1 to the City of Stockholm.

    ICA Gruppen issues green bonds

    ICA Gruppen has successfully completed the second green bond issue of SEK 2 billion under the company’s Swedish MTN programme.The issue saw strong demand and the order book almost reached SEK 2.9 billion. The bonds of SEK 500 million and SEK 1.5 billion were issued with tenors of 3 and 5.5 years respectively, both tenors with floating rate tranches and the longer tenor also with a fixed rate tranche.     At ICA Gruppen’s Annual General Meeting,  Magnus Moberg was elected as the new Chairman of the Board.At the same time, Göran Blomberg, Anette Wiotti, Katarina Romberg, Fredrik Persson, Jan Amethier, Charlotte Svensson, Per Strömberg were Bengt Kjell re-elected as members of the Board.     Solna 2024-03-25 ICA Gruppen completed its first green bond issue in May 2023 and is today publishing the first report on how the SEK 3.5 billion which the issue amounted to has been allocated – Green Bond Report 2024.     Increased market shares and strong cash flow· Consolidated net sales increased by 7.6% to SEK 38,273 million compared with 2022 (SEK 35,558 million) for the fourth quarter.     ICA Gruppen’s Chairman of the Board, Claes-Göran Sylvén, declines re-election to ICA Gruppen’s Board of Directors ahead of the next Annual General Meeting. The Nomination Committee proposes Magnus Moberg as the new Chairman of the Board for the coming period. Claes-Göran will remain as Chairman until the Annual General Meeting, which takes place on 26 April 2024.Claes-Göran has been Chairman of the ICA Group, then ICA AB, since 2002. He continued with the assignment when ICA Gruppen was listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange in 2013 and after the buyout from the stock exchange in 2022. “

    Rimi Baltic has sold it’s central logistics and office facilities in Riga to East Capital Real Estate Fund IV through a sale and leaseback transaction under a 15-year lease agreement.     ICA Sweden is changing its model for e-commerce in the Gothenburg region and has therefore decided to close down the e-commerce warehouse in Arendal, Gothenburg.     ICA Real Estate has sold the logistics property Saltängen 1, ICA’s warehouse facility in Västerås, to Genesta through a so called sale and lease back transaction in which ICA Real Estate has signed a 15-year lease agreement with Genesta.     ICA Gruppen has successfully conducted a new bond issue of SEK 2.5 billion. The new bonds are issued under ICA Gruppen’s Swedish MTN programme.The investor interest for the transaction was significant, and the issue was oversubscribed 1.7 times. The new bonds consist of SEK 1.5 billion with three years to maturity and SEK 1 billion with five years to maturity, with both fixed and floating rate tranches.
