ICA Gruppen is arranging a Capital Markets Day in Stockholm today, Wednesday 11 December 2013. The programme includes a review of the Swedish operations and the Group’s strategic priorities for 2014.

CEO Per Strömberg notes that ICA Gruppen is well on its way to delivering in accordance with the priorities that were set for the current year.

“Growth continues in Sweden and the Baltic countries, the proportion of private labels is rising, we have implemented efficiency improvements in operations and we have made better use of sourcing synergies. It feels good to have delivered in our operational units in a year such as this, when we also successfully completed the formation of ICA Gruppen. As far as our Norwegian operations are concerned, however, the challenges remain,” says CEO Per Strömberg.

“2014 will be an exciting year. Among other things we will continue to develop our loyalty programme, launch online sales and support customers’ sustainable choices. Our priorities for 2014 focus on enabling continued growth and improved profitability,” says Strömberg.

ICA Gruppen’s strategic priorities for 2014 are summarised in ten points:

Reverse development in Norway

Develop and utilise leading loyalty programmes (CRM)
Strengthen private label products
Ensure competitive prices and price perception
Implement portfolio and non-food strategy
Build a leading position in online retail
Strengthen the store network
Exploit sourcing synergies
Introduce ICA’s common values
Support customers’ sustainable choices
