Scott Rees & Co Solicitors is celebrating 20 years in business.

The Skelmersdale firm, which employs approximately 250 members of staff, is celebrating the last two decades of business and its active involvement with the community.

The firm was established in 1992 and now has a nation-wide client base with a total of eight partners and a dedicated senior management team.

Scott Rees specialises in personal injury law for accidents on the road, in public and in the workplace negotiating compensation pay-outs from £1,500 to settlements of more than a million pounds.

During the last 20 years, the firm has pledged its support to many organisations and individuals at a local level and further afield.

It has also established a proud tradition of training young lawyers through the traditional trainee solicitor route but also through the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.

Managing Partner, Royston Smith who has been with Scott Rees since August 1992, said: "I am delighted to announce that Scott Rees is marking its 20th anniversary in 2012.

"When the firm was first started it was among the first of its kind to use IT to handle high volumes of casework. Its pioneering work ethic continues to this day in its infrastructure and investment throughout the business.

"With the legal landscape constantly changing and major Government changes in how claims are funded, we're looking forward to the next 20 years of growth and development."

Highlights from the last 20 years

Scott Rees' Managing Partner Royston Smith is a member of the Law Society and the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.

Scott Rees' Marketing Partner David Byrne is currently Regional Co-ordinator for the Merseyside branch of the Motor Accident Solicitors Society. (MASS)

Scott Rees Partner Chris Walker is Chairman of the Liverpool branch of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.

Scott Rees was among the first solicitors of its kind to build up a nation-wide client base by developing IT for handling high volumes of casework remotely.

Scott Rees sponsored amateur motorcyclist Rob Scott for the Ducati Monster Challenge 2002.

Scott Rees sponsored the Dynamo Rangers junior football team in Skelmersdale from 2002-10.

Scott Rees sponsored the Chepstow International Horse Trials for 2002-2005. It also supported the Horse Trial Support Group and its Steps Training initiative.

Scott Rees has pledged its support to the Lancashire Partnership Against Crime.

Scott Rees sponsored boxer Amir Khan in 2005.

In 2006, Scott Rees supported the charity SportsAid which pledged funding to four youngsters to pursue careers in sailing, rugby league, golf and BMX racing.

Scott Rees pledged its support to the West Lancashire Community School in 2009.

Scott Rees has sponsored Skelmersdale Cricket Club since 2009.

Scott Rees has sponsored Skelmersdale United FC since 2010. It is the 'Match Day' and 'Man of the Match' sponsor for both league and cup games.

Between 2009-2010, Scott Rees was involved with a pilot scheme by the Solicitors Regulation Authority for a new work-based approach to solicitor training contracts.

Scott Rees is among only one per cent of Investors in People accredited organisations to hold Gold Investor in People status.

Scott Rees employs a large team of multi-lingual speakers including Polish and Turkish speakers.

Scott Rees solicitor Maryam Khan hosted the inaugural English Asian Business Awards in Manchester in March 2012.
