High flyers gather at Blackpool Airport

A fire fighter from Blackpool Airport is preparing to cycle from Blackpool Tower to the Eiffel Tower with five friends to raise money for the Brian House Children’s Hospice . Nick Perks, bank manager Andy Charles, Lancashire fire fighter John Charles, Dr David Charles and policeman Lee Kelly will meet on Saturday 12th May at Brian House and start their gruelling journey from Blackpool Tower at 8.00am.

Blackpool Airport and Jet2.com have pledged their support to ABTA’s ‘Fair Tax on Flying’ campaign after it was revealed that British people can pay up to 12 times more than anyone else in Europe.They have joined forces to lobby local MP’s and central government in a bid for a fairer deal for their passengers from across Lancashire and the Lake District.
