CREATING A STIR
The Doyle Collection is delighted to announce that Alessandro Pizzoli, master mixologist at The Kensington Hotel, has been awarded the gold for Best Technique in the Bowmore Galvin Cup with a top score of 30/30.
The mixology competition offers both professionals and non-professionals the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of a live panel of judges, and requires participants to make a classic cocktail as well as a new creation of their own.
The Best Technique prize goes to the mixologist who exhibits superior preparation techniques, and Pizzoli’s award is representative of the fact that judges deemed his to be flawless. His superior brand knowledge coupled with his perfectly prepared, perfectly measured, perfectly garnished cocktail, ensured he took home an impeccable score and the gold accolade.
Pizzoli previously won the Galvin Cup prize for Best Cocktail back in 2011, when he was named the most creative bartender by concocting what Judges described as “a great drink”. He mastered the art of mixology at the famous hotel and catering school, ‘Instituto Alberghiero’, in his home country of Italy, and since his appointment as head mixologist at The Kensington Hotel, has ensured that guests return time and time again to cradle and sip some of his couture quaffs.
