Update to the Alliance field service management (FSM) solution empowers workforce freedom and flexibility

Horsham, Pennsylvania, April 6, 2020 – IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces the release of Alliance® version 15.2 enabling service organizations to boost employee efficiency and react in real-time to changing schedules and workforce restrictions to ensure that customer SLAs are still being met. Users are able to leverage the majority of the platform from the most popular internet browsers, including Chrome, Safari and Firefox. The new version also delivers significant enhancements to its native mobile field service applications, offering enhanced usability to technicians, supervisors and warehouse workers. With Alliance v15.2, end users have more freedom and flexibility than ever before to deliver great service.

Alliance v15.2 is designed to help Astea customers improve employee productivity via a new web-inspired user experience that streamlines workflows and enables users to focus only on the information they need to do their jobs. Additionally, the new version helps organizations realize efficiency gains by eliminating the need to install applications or perform system updates on users’ local machines.

In the new version, the Alliance Dispatch Console displays technicians’ private activities, giving dispatchers one comprehensive view of all technicians’ daily assignments. The Manager’s Edge native mobile app offers field service supervisors the ability to leverage the Dispatch Console functionality from any mobile device. The app’s map feature has been enhanced to display multiple service agents’ current location, nearest unassigned activity locations, and the nearest warehouse locations, helping supervisors adjust technician assignments in real-time. Additionally, Manager’s Edge now empowers supervisors to assign work orders to third-party technicians in case employees are unavailable.

Alliance v15.2 also delivers:

  • New standard connectors for QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016, SAGE 300 and Prophet by Baxter Planning, which makes it easier to forecast demand and optimize target stock levels
  • Improved integration capability that enables users to schedule an export to Excel files from within the browser and store it in the Microsoft Azure Cloud for easier access
  • Enhancements to the Customizer Tool so that organizations can share customizations across regions by translating pages automatically to any language after creating a new customization in one language
  • New functionality in the Warehouse Edge native mobile app that enables employees to receive large quantities of serialized inventory into the system at one time without being required to enter each item’s serial number until the part is used
  • New ability to track carrier shipping information on Purchase Requisitions with increased visibility into the expected parts delivery

“The ability for employees to perform their jobs remotely is possibly more crucial today than ever before,” Astea CEO and IFS service management business unit president Marne Martin said. “Alliance v15.2 responds to that need by delivering new and enhanced connectivity, collaboration and usability functionality. As in-person interactions are restricted, IFS delivers industry-leading field service technology that keeps people connected and engaged. We are proud to help the hundreds of organizations worldwide that power their service operations with Alliance to serve their customers in the best, most cost-effective way possible while ensuring the ongoing safety of their employees.”

With the acquisition of Astea International and its Alliance platform, IFS is uniquely positioned to offer a comprehensive service management portfolio that includes IFS Field Service Management™ (FSM), IFS Planning, Scheduling and Optimization™ (PSO), IFS Remote Assistance™, and the WorkWave suite of solutions.
