High-tech manufacturer Swan takes flight with IFS Applications in the cloud
Comprehensive IFS solution to improve business processes across 14 sites in 12 countries in Europe, North America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia
London, May 6, 2019 – IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that Switzerland-based Swan Analytische Instrumente AG (Swan), a leading provider of online analytical systems in the water industry, has decided to replace its legacy business system with a comprehensive, cloud-based ERP suite from IFS.
Based in Hinwil, Switzerland, Swan designs cutting-edge technology for water analysis, including ultrapure for pharmaceutical and semiconductor applications, feedwater, steam and condensate monitoring.
Currently in a phase of solid international growth, the company needed to replace its legacy business system, which was no longer fit for purpose. Swan selected IFS Applications 10 delivered on the IFS Managed Cloud following a comprehensive tender process involving some of the world’s largest ERP vendors.
IFS Applications 10 will help Swan take an important step towards further developing its sales, service and support organization. It will also increase the efficiency of its intercompany business processes and enhance cooperation between the 14 companies within the Swan Group. IFS Applications 10 will be used to map and help configure the company’s complex product portfolio, which employs a diverse vertical range of manufacturing methods, in order to significantly reduce the lead time from production to delivery of an approximate 10,000 analyzers per year.
“We chose IFS Applications because of its flexibility, user-friendliness, modern technological architecture, and international scalability,” said Swan CIO, Michael Rudolf. “It offered out-of-the-box support for small-batch production combined with project manufacturing, making it the ideal choice for our organization. Another deciding factor was the IFS team, who demonstrated a robust, industry solution that is backed by a global service, support, and partner network capable of powering our international growth.”
Guido Zumstein, Managing Director for IFS in Switzerland, added, “With its leading technology and great forward momentum, Swan has caught a tailwind that will doubtlessly see the company take market share both domestically and internationally. We at IFS are proud to be part of that journey and to supply a sensible, cloud-based ERP platform that can flex and scale in lockstep with the business. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership with Swan.”
IFS Applications 10 will support mission-critical business processes, including manufacturing, project management, maintenance, CRM including support & call center, document management, quality assurance, financials, and HR.
