IFS Applications sold to four utilities in deals totaling US$ 4 million Industrial & Financial Systems, IFS, has sold its ERP system, IFS Applications , to yet another Polish and three Norwegian utilities. The total value of the orders amounts to over US$ 4 million. In recent years IFS has signed an increasing number of utilities both in Sweden and internationally. One of Poland's largest utilities, Warsaw Heat and Power Stations, which operates six plants providing power and heating, has chosen IFS Applications for financials, distribution, and maintenance. The system will support 375 users simultaneously. The value of the order amounts to over US$ 3 million. The three Norwegian utilities, Akershus Energiverk, Elverum Energiverk, and Helgeland Kraftlag, will use IFS Applications to reduce the number of manual transactions and rationalize their business processes. The system will also provide management with decision support from, for example, the project, maintenance and distribution processes, in addition to forming the basis for cooperation with other utilities to create synergies with respect to inventory, purchasing, planning, and project management. The total value of the Norwegian orders amounts to approximately US$ 1 million. "IFS Applications is well suited to our business processes here at Akershus Energi. The implementation process, which will be done in cooperation with IFS, involves more than just the technical installation of the system. We will also renew the company's financial, distribution, and maintenance processes. As we are experiencing strong growth, it is important that the system is flexible so that the IT support can be expanded as the company grows. IFS Applications can be adapted to our future needs. Akershus Energi was one of the first companies to adapt to the deregulation of the Norwegian energy market, and we see the use of a modern ERP system as part of this process," explains Eskil Lunde Jensen, financial manager at Akershus Energi.
