London, UK, March 6, 2023  IFS, the global cloud enterprise software company, has announced that it has become a signatory of the UK Armed Forces Covenant. The announcement follows a recent ceremony held at IFS’s UK offices in Staines, London, during which IFS leadership and senior representatives from the UK Armed Forces officially co-signed the Covenant.

By signing, IFS has made a series of commitments to help support members of the Armed Forces and underlines its promise to consider members and allies of the UK armed forces as an integral part of the IFS team.

UK Army Brigadier Jonathan (Jo) Chestnutt, Head of Global Supply Chain Operations & Movements (DSCOM), said: “We are very grateful to IFS for formalising their commitment to the Armed Forces Community, including active and previous personnel, reservists, family and other allies. The support of businesses, such as IFS, demonstrates clearly to the community that they are valued by society and that veterans have an important and valuable contribution to make after they have served.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation to ensure that those who have served in the Armed Forces of the Crown are treated fairly. By signing the Covenant, IFS is committing to being flexible to the unique situations of the wider Armed Forces Community, ensuring fair and appropriate treatment to all who are involved, including the spouses and partners, and cadet force adult volunteers.

IFS Armed Forces Champion, and former Army officer, James Harrison, said: “Like many, when I first left the military, I found the transition difficult. Understanding the civilian environment was more challenging than I ever anticipated. It is important that we at IFS see the Armed Forces Community as an integral part of our society and employee base, and recognise the skills, and experience, that those who have served can bring to the organisation, as well as the difficulties of that transition. By signing the Covenant, we are underlining our commitment to do all that.”

About The Armed Forces Covenant

To those who protect our nation, who do so with honour, courage, and commitment, the Armed Forces Covenant is the nation’s commitment to them. It is a pledge that together acknowledges and understands that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy, and society they serve with their lives.

The Covenant focuses on helping members of the armed forces community have the same access to government and commercial services and products as any other citizen. The Covenant supports serving personnel, service leavers, veterans, and their families, and is fulfilled by the different groups that have committed to making a difference. If you are a member of the armed forces, a veteran, or a family member, the Armed Forces Covenant offers a wide variety of support to ensure you are being treated fairly.
