IFS sold Front Office solution to Brazilian manufacturer

IFS sold Front Office solution to Brazilian manufacturer Industrial & Financial Systems, IFS, has received an order for IFS Applications, its component-based ERP system, from the Brazilian multinational textile manufacturer, Companhia Tèxtil Karsten. Included in the order is IFS Sales Configurator to rationalize the company´s sales network. The initial value of the order amounts to approximately USD 1 million. "The order was won by IFS Do Brazil in competition with the German ERP vendor SAP, among others. This is one of several new orders we have recently won in Brazil," comments Alf Andersson, responsible for IFS in South America. The 100-year-old Companhia Tèxtil Karsten produces textiles such as towels, tablecloths, bed linen, and furniture fabrics. With subsidiaries in Argentina, Germany and the USA, and sales in 40 countries, the company has 2000 employees. Sales for 1998 amounted to USD 175 million. The order comprises IFS Applications, including IFS Business Modeler, to optimize implementation, and IFS Sales Configurator, to rationalize the company's sales network. In addition, IFS and Karsten have begun to collaborate on a development project. "We are going to jointly develop a new application to manage imports, exports and currency fluctuation for the Brazilian market," concludes Alf Andersson.
