Leading high-tech manufacturer selects IFS business software to harmonize business processes, touching 1,100+ employees

London, October 20, 2020 – Worldwide leader in high-precision sensors Micro-Epsilon needed to consolidate and integrate all mission-critical internal work processes to realize its planned international expansion. The company turned to IFS and its extended enterprise resource management (ERP) suite to provide the technological architecture needed to power its journey.

For more than 50 years, Micro-Epsilon has offered reliable, high-performance, unique solutions for high-precision measurement and inspection. Its success has taken the company on an international journey of growth, with sites in its native Germany as well as overseas locations in the US, the UK, China, France, Japan, and Switzerland.

To maintain momentum, the company needed to replace its existing business system, which was not capable of delivering the joined-up functionality the growing organization needed. Micro-Epsilon launched an extensive evaluation process, which concluded with the selection of IFS.

The choice fell on IFS thanks to the solution’s comprehensive functional width and fully integrated nature, making it the ideal system for a multi-site manufacturer with a complex internal and external supply chain. With IFS as its central ERP backbone, all Micro-Epsilon will be able to relate to one version of the truth, promoting transparence, precision, and accuracy in its planning and decision-making. The solution will also help simplify the company’s inter-company flow of materials and information, driving efficiency throughout its supply chain.

“IFS stood out as the ideal choice because of the solution’s well-rounded, modern, and globally scalable architecture,” Micro-Epsilon Managing Director Dr. Alexander Wisspeintner said. “IFS provides us with a solution that optimally supports all our internal processes and global ambitions with standard software functionality. We look forward to entering a new phase of process transparency, efficiency, and international growth.”

Marcus Pannier, IFS Managing Director, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, added, “Our technology has been tried and tested over several decades by some of the world’s leading manufacturers. The more complex the operation and the more sites involved, the more IFS’s fully integrated ERP shines. We are thrilled to be part of Micro-Epsilon’s continued development and to help the company unlock efficiencies and business value throughout its global operations.”
