IFS solution to empower more than 1,000 service specialists globally to maximize plant availability and minimize asset lifecycle costs

IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that ANDRITZ, one of the world's leading suppliers of industrial plants, equipment, as well as services for hydropower, pulp and paper, metal processing, and steel industries, will deploy IFS Field Service Management™ (FSM) worldwide.

Headquartered in Graz, Austria, publicly listed ANDRITZ has around 26,000 employees working at more than 250 locations in 40 countries. The core tasks of ANDRITZ's service specialists include maintenance and repair as well as provision and installation of spare parts. The company also offers audits, retrofits, and process improvements to help customers achieve maximum asset and plant availability and performance throughout the entire lifecycle.

By digitalizing and automating its global service operations, IFS FSM will enable ANDRITZ to standardize and optimize processes as well as further improve the productivity of its service experts across maintenance, repair, spare parts management and more. The IFS solution will empower technicians to report all tasks onsite using a mobile device and have their activities and the associated costs confirmed by the customer immediately after completion.

IFS FSM will be integrated with the company’s existing SAP system as well as with other CRM and document management solutions. The first roll-out of IFS FSM is scheduled for late 2018. After the complete roll-out, more than 1,000 service specialists will leverage IFS FSM, both in the office and in the field.

"After a detailed analysis and an evaluation of its technical performance, we opted for IFS Field Service Management,” said Daniel Hirz, Project Manager Smart Services at ANDRITZ. “The comprehensive range of functions, configurability, and flexibility of the solution played an important role in our decision.” Josef Haintz, Program Manager Smart Services added “We look forward to leveraging the IFS solution to significantly expand our service offering and to offer our customers next-generation services.”

Peter Höhne, IFS Vice President Sales & Marketing, Europe Central, added, "It was clear already in the initial phase of the sales process that IFS and ANDRITZ share many of the same values when it comes to service and customer orientation. We look forward to a long-term and mutually beneficial collaboration with ANDRITZ and to helping them realize highly efficient, globally available service processes in all business areas of the company.”
