London, March 26, 2020 – IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that Mitutoyo has decided to implement  IFS Applications™ to standardize business processes at its production sites in Japan. The new system will support sales and logistics and is scheduled to go live in the first half of 2022. It will successively be rolled out to nine plants in Japan, empowering a total of over 1,000 users.

Mitutoyo is a global provider of measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers as well as system equipment products such as coordinate measuring machines, form measuring instruments, and vision and optical measuring instruments. The main purpose of the IFS implementation is to integrate and standardize business processes in the sales and service departments, unify supply chain processes in nine domestic factories, and remove legacy systems.

NEC, a Platinum-level IFS partner, will be responsible for deploying the new system and will lead the implementation project of IFS Applications based on the experience fostered as a long-standing IFS partner.

Mr. Motohiro Egusa, Director of Mitutoyo said, “We were looking for business applications that could standardize domestic business processes. We have been using IFS Applications in North America and China for years, so we had prior knowledge of IFS. The trust that we have built in IFS’s products greatly influenced this decision, as did NEC's industry templates. I am reassured that NEC, who has extensive experience in implementing IFS, will be in charge of this project.”

Gerry Fosnick, President of IFS Japan, said, “Mitutoyo has been using our products overseas for more than 10 years. I am very pleased that Mitutoyo selected IFS in Japan, where its head office is located.  IFS will provide as much support as possible to ensure smooth implementation at Mitutoyo's nine factories.”
