DanCake to deploy IFS Applications for some 200 employees at multiple manufacturing units in Portugal

IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that DanCake Portugal, a global player in the Bakery industry, has chosen to implement IFS Applications™ 9 as its central ERP solution.

DanCake, which began its export activities in 1986, is a Portuguese company with a major presence worldwide. The second largest producer of butter cookies in the world, its products are sold to more than 80 countries. It has 19 production lines at two production sites in Portugal with the capacity to produce 55,000 tons per year.

As DanCake is experiencing rapid growth, the company needed a new ERP suite that could support and enhance its process manufacturing operations.

The company chose IFS Applications because of the solution’s comprehensive functional range and ease of implementation. Another important factor was the IFS solution’s flexible architecture and rapid scalability, which will support the company in managing its rapid global growth and increasing export volumes.

“IFS will be one of the engines driving the change and expansion that DanCake is currently experiencing,” said João Costa, CEO at DanCake. “With IFS’s ERP system, we will be able to grow and support all of our business processes in an agile and efficient manner.”

IFS Iberia managing director Gustavo Brito added, “We are very pleased to add DanCake to our growing list of tier-one clients in Portugal. By leveraging the feedback from our customers in the global food and beverage space, we are able to offer a unique industry solution that lets expanding companies like DanCake rapidly adapt to market change. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial collaboration.”

The IFS solution includes support for advanced material requirement planning, shop floor reporting, financials, purchasing, sales and inventory, document management, business analytics, maintenance, quality assurance, and human resources.

The agreement with DanCake is the latest of several important customer wins in Portugal, where IFS is currently working with companies such as Bial, Borgstena, Oliveira & Irmão (OLI), Sogepoc, Vitacress (RAR Group), Koolair, and Oriflame.
