IFS’s cloud-based solutions to support Simonds’ vision of modernizing its operational platform to drive productivity and enhance customer experience

Chicago, October 27, 2020 – IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that Simonds International, the oldest cutting tool manufacturer in North America, will deploy IFS Applications™ enterprise resource planning (ERP) in the cloud to support its operations in the US and Canada.

The project will enable Simonds to improve forecasting and safety stock planning, have better visibility of margin by product, and handle multi-location logistics. The IFS cloud solution will help Simonds reduce complexity by eliminating the need for add-on systems as well as modernizing its processes to be less reliant on tribal knowledge.

Facing off in the final round of evaluations, IFS defeated incumbent Infor as well as Epicor to win the opportunity with Simonds.

“It was clear to us that IFS understood the needs of our complex manufacturing environment, and could meet and exceed the needs previously unmet by the multiple systems we had, in one connected platform,” Simonds International CFO, Henry Botticello, said. “In addition, we wanted an internationally scalable technology platform delivering consistent visibility across all sites to help us enhance our customers’ experience. IFS’s intuitive user experience will also help us attract and retain new talent.”

“Customers like Simonds exemplify the challenger mindset from the very beginning,” IFS Regional President for the Americas, Cindy Jaudon, explained. “When we realized we wouldn’t be able to conduct our workshops in person, together we found a way to quickly adjust our plans to run impactful sessions that allowed IFS to understand the real business challenges at hand—and show where we must deliver meaningful value. Our approach also allowed IFS to bring forward the best possible solution for implementation of the new solution set.”
