Swiss technology leader in pharmaceutical test equipment to benefit from the new version of IFS Applications

IFS, the global enterprise applications company announces that SOTAX, a leading global supplier of pharmaceutical testing equipment based in Switzerland, will implement IFS Applications™ 10 to optimize its global business processes.

Headquartered in Aesch near Basel, Switzerland, SOTAX is part of the first wave of commercial customers implementing IFS Applications 10, launched two weeks ago at IFS World Conference in Atlanta. With the new software, SOTAX will optimize its global business processes, consequently further increase productivity and increase transparency sustainable across the entire group of companies.

After a comprehensive evaluation through which SOTAX assessed a number of vendors and solutions, SOTAX chose IFS Applications 10 as the solution that best met its requirements. Through a preliminary project the company’s most important requirements were verified and the solution and the implementation process were defined. IFS Applications will not only replace SOTAX’s incumbent ERP solution, but also integrate a large number of processes that were previously managed in peripheral software solutions.

The IFS solution will cover all areas of the business, including engineering, supply chain management, production, quality management, sales and service, maintenance, service management, accounting, and human resources. Initially, it will be implemented at the company's locations in Switzerland, Germany, France, UK, Italy, Czech Republic, US, Canada, and China. At a later date, IFS Applications 10 is intended to be deployed at SOTAX’s subsidiary in India, making the IFS solution the group’s central business platform.

“To make sure that we chose the best solution for our specific business processes, detailed requirements were defined for the future ERP platform and several large providers were invited to the selection process," said Lukas Bruttel, CFO at SOTAX. "In the end, the decision was clearly in favor of IFS Applications, since it not only offers comprehensive support of our functional requirements but also brings additional value through its modern architecture, great flexibility and user-friendliness, delivered through the intuitive user experience IFS Aurena.”

Guido Zumstein, managing director for IFS in Switzerland, added, “Supporting companies in the high-tech industry in optimizing their business processes is one of IFS’s core competencies. In IFS Applications 10, we have once again extended the scope of functions for the high-tech manufacturing industry. This strategically important customer win shows that we are on the right track with these investments.”
