IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that DSL Ltd., a leading commercial food service and restaurant equipment distributor and service provider, has chosen IFS Field Service Management and IFS Mobile Workforce Management, components of IFS’ Enterprise Service Management offering, to enhance its service business, increase inventory availability while reducing expenses, and optimize customer equipment maintenance.

Headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, DSL sells and services commercial food service equipment from leading manufacturers, such as Taylor, Henny Penny and Flavor Burst. With four offices in Western Canada and 65 service technicians in 22 locations, DSL has almost doubled its number of service technicians in the past ten years. The company needed a comprehensive and scalable field service management solution that could help with service scheduling and inventory management, and enable it to integrate with customers’ and suppliers’ enterprise systems.

“We selected IFS because it will allow us to better serve our customers and meet our service level targets,” said Hart Levine, DSL’s vice president, finance.  “It is a very inclusive, easy-to-configure service management tool.  Its multi-site capabilities will give us complete visibility at all points in the service and repair chain, and enable us to expand our range of services and level of interaction with our customers,” he said.

“IFS’ native, app-based mobile solution and dynamic scheduling functionality will allow DSL to set themselves apart as service providers.  Having the tools to manage everything that happens with delivering service in the field will greatly enhance DSL’s service quality and efficiency, and boost its return on investment,” said Patrick Zirnhelt, IFS North America’s vice president of asset management and enterprise service management.

IFS Field Service Management and IFS Mobile Workforce Management will replace an ERP system that provided work order management and a custom BlackBerry-based mobile application. DSL staff will be accessing the following IFS Field Service Management and IFS Mobile Workforce Management components on Android smartphones:  contact center, inventory and logistics, repair center, dynamic scheduling and optimized dispatch, contract and warranties, and a collaborative portal.
