IKEA Foundation is partnering with Purpose and the United Nations to call for a fair global vaccination plan.

Ready to feel free again? To see friends and family in person? To celebrate, learn and work alongside each other? We all are. Over the past year, we’ve all missed out on things we love and millions of us have lost someone we love or had our livelihoods destroyed.

Although inoculation against COVID-19 has begun, 130 countries have yet to receive a single vaccine dose. And 75% of all vaccines have gone to just 10 countries. If different countries move at different speeds, then there is no guarantee that life will ever be the same. We know the pandemic will only truly be over when it is over for everyone.

That is why the IKEA Foundation is partnering with Purpose and the United Nations to help ensure a fair and effective global recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic by supporting a campaign for equal access to vaccines and life-saving information.

The IKEA Foundation’s support this year for the movement follows its support of the UN and Purpose’s Verified launch last year. The Verified campaign has since reached over 1billion people worldwide, spreading life-saving COVID-19 information in over 50 languages.

Ready to get involved?
On March 11, on the anniversary of the pandemic, UN  launched the campaign #OnlyTogether, calling for fair and equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines around the world. For one week #OnlyTogether will highlight the opportunities that we will have again, if we all have access to the vaccines. The more that people express support for a fair global vaccination plan, the more we can count on action from governments and backing from the private sector. So, join the movement! You can participate by sharing an image on social media of what you’re excited to do once this pandemic ends. Tag it #OnlyTogether and mention @unitednations and @ikea_foundation.
