The Institute of Environmental Medicine at Karolinska Institutet is one of the world’s most innovative pulmonary research bodies, and a returning ISAB customer. It has now signed a 45.000 euro order for an eight-month lease of a PreciseInhale platform, with a purchase option at the end of the period.

The new order was signed on Wednesday March 11, March 2020 with Institute of Environmental Medicine (IMM), Associate Professor Mikael Adner. IMM has a long history of collaboration with ISAB. It has already previously purchased one PreciseInhale aerosol generating platform, as well as an XposeALI cell exposure module, which amongst other projects was used to carry out advanced research into nanoparticle air pollution in several different projects.

Assoc. Prof. Mikael Adner has a keen interest in asthma, allergology and pulmonary inflammatory pathways causing hyper-responsiveness in the lung. He is a well-recognized expert in the pulmonary research field with over 100 per-reviewed papers published.

ISAB CEO Manoush Masarrat: “When customers of this calibre return for another system it really proves that the data PreciseInhale deliver are, quite simply, world-class. Scarcity of test material and the need for respirable aerosol is an acute problem for environmental toxicology researchers. PreciseInhale’s ability to run tests and generate precise data from just milligrams, not grams, of costly test substance gives toxicology and pharmaceutical researchers a powerful competitive advantage.”
